Biga-camp 2010

video

After last year’s success there was no doubt about arranging a second Biga Camp. The members decided to return to the location at Villavillakulla@Bogøy, Fusa, somewhere at the west coast of Norway. The members were productive, lovely and creative as always.

Song to BIGA

(ode to Villavillakulla)

Who cares about the harddisk problems,

a lost dog,

magazines in the toilet?

We had mamma’s meatballs,

gulrotkake, mormors melkekaker

Who cares about lost glasses,

dybteninterview in the supermarket

and sold-out shoes?

We had de trekzak,

red sun, white rain,

Oleana

Who cares about palmas,

klipp ut og lim inn,

being in between?

We had Odd Børretzen,

the Italian carpenter,

Spotify

Who cares about three or four,

midnight moviemaking,

bad food

Viva BIGA!

I wish you all a merry christmas & a creative new year!

2009 is in it's last days. A brand new year is about to begin. The clock will keep it's rythm and speed. The everyday struggle will be the same. We will be the same. Our errors and mistakes from the past will be the same. Still, every new year, I have the same childish hope about good changes and new beginnings hidden in the unknown days to come.

Miss Tveiterås is back to school!

Detail from a last year project: Pupils decorating the school’s reception room

Since January 2008 Miss Tveiterås have had a part-time job teaching arts and design for teenagers at the Comprehensive School in Fusa. Now it is about time to start learning how to be a teacher! This atumn it is back to school in every way, I will continue teaching at Fusa Videregåande skule, but also become a student myself. It should be challenging to find the time to make it all good, but I have high hopes that it will all work out. The beginning is looking very good, starting off with a 3 day workshop at Transplant to kick-off the new educational program at Bergen Art Academy. The course is based on practical-pedagogical teaching from a designer’s perspective.

Lost weekend

Lost Weekend is a small, but charming non-profit music festival on the island Askøy, about 30 minutes outside Bergen. The event was in August while I still had my holiday so I brought my camera and my 200mm objective, and enjoyed myself with both the music and the photographing, trying to get some good portraits of the performing artists. Above Karin Park, who together with her brother gave a beautiful concert despite an air company fuck-up which left essential equipment and instruments stuck in Coopenhagen.
